On ellipticalHub, they have ranked Xterra FS 2.5 as the 5th best budget elliptical under $400. Now my question is, should I buy this? or should i save some more money and go for more expensive option?
While doing research on this trainer, i came accrose a review of an old lady, who bought this trainer, only to find that its resistance and belt has some "issue". That issue is even before that lady assembled this unit. Once she tried to communicate with Xterra, they did not resolved that issue....
After doing intensive research for my $350 investment (thats how much is costs on amazon), i short listed these 4 problems with this model
Now the final QUestion, is it worth it?
If you feel lucky....go for it. If you are not so lucky...save $100 more and buy yourself a Schwinn A40
After doing intensive research for my $350 investment (thats how much is costs on amazon), i short listed these 4 problems with this model
- Bad customer support (to get better support I need to invest more)
- Dependence on luck...yes you read correct. If they ship all the parts correctly, you are going to have a good day, but if they mess up and send damaged parts or no parts at all, its your bad luck :P
- Short stride: this machine has only 14 inch stride, so its no good for tall people. But no trainer under $400 comes with longer stride...for that i need to dig deep in my pocket
- Might make noise....again we are depending on luck. SOme user says they encounter some level of noise; but other says its quite as a babies bottom (wrong use of phrase :P)
